We call on the Swiss government to immediately ban conversion therapies for LGBTQ+ people in Switzerland.
Conversion therapies are harmful, unacceptable and violate the human rights of LGBTQ+ people, and studies and experts agree that conversion therapies have no scientific basis, are ineffective and have serious negative effects on the mental health and well-being of those affected. LGBTQ+ people who undergo such therapies often experience depression, anxiety disorders, suicidal thoughts and social isolation.
Despite the enormous psychological damage that conversion therapies cause, they have not yet been banned in Switzerland!
Switzerland stands for equal rights, acceptance and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Conversion therapies are a form of discrimination and abuse that should have no place in our society!
Our aim is to send a strong signal to the government and society that conversion therapies will not be tolerated. By supporting this petition, we are campaigning for a world where all people are free to be themselves without fear of harm or discrimination.
Dear Members of the National Council, the Council of States and the Federal Council,
We, the signatories of this petition, are deeply concerned about the rejection of a ban on conversion therapies in Switzerland.
Conversion therapies are harmful, unacceptable and violate the human rights of LGBTQ+ people.
As elected representatives of the Swiss population, we urge you to take action and pass a law banning conversion therapies in Switzerland.
The scientific community agrees that conversion therapies have no scientific basis and have serious negative effects on the mental health of those affected.
By rejecting a ban on conversion therapies, you are indirectly tolerating discrimination and abuse against LGBTQ+ people, and we appeal to your responsibility to protect the rights and dignity of all Swiss citizens.
It is time to send a strong signal that conversion therapies are not tolerated in our society. We therefore call on you to revisit the issue and pass a law banning conversion therapies and urge you to listen to the voices of the Swiss people who support diversity and equality.
