Germany: Stop Online Hate against LGBT+ People

A Moroccan TikToker living in Germany uses the platform to incite homophobic hate and violence in Arabic. He is calling on Moroccans to kill queers

The TikTok user “abouamirreda” is spreading horrible hate against LGBT+ people on the platform in Arabic.

He calls gay men “f*ggots” and and trans* women “f*ggots dressed as women”. Trans* sex workers are described by him as “those who sleep on their belly for 20 or 40 Euros”.

But worst, he calls on people to attack gay and trans* people, saying “real men fight homosexuals”. In an especially explicit video, he describes how queer people should properly be decapitated.

He encourages people to target and attack queer folks “in the name of God”.

“aoumirreda”, who calls himself “The Women’s Lawyer”, encouraged Moroccans all over Europe to “kill, burn, and do whatever it takes” to get rid of Moroccan LGBT+ people and men who wear piercings, because they are “no longer considered men”.

According to TikTok’s Community Guidelines: “...videos that incite or provoke violence or hatred against an individual or a group of people — including race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and more — are not welcome on TikTok and can lead to suspensions and bans.”

The German Criminal Code also prohibits Volksverhetzung, or “incitement to hatred”, against an individual or a group, including hate speech on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Despite these laws and policies, “aboumirreda”’s account has not been suspended, and he continues to use TikTok to spread hate and violence against LGBT+ people.

“aboumirreda” is endangering the lives of countless LGBT+ Moroccans, both in German and Morocco. His actions on TikTok are a violation of both TikTok’s policies and German law.
