Mexico: No more hate speech against the LGBT+ community!

Sign now to demand sanctions against Congresswoman Teresa Castell for her discriminatory behavior and hate speech against LGBT+ people

In the face of growing anti-LGBT+ hate spread by the current federal representative, Teresa Castell, we demand that the relevant authorities put a stop to it! Despite the fact that Teresa Castell has already received several warnings* ** indicating that she has engaged in political violence with her speeches attacking women and other LGBT+ individuals, she continues to spread hate.

On her social media, it is common to see content from Castell that fosters hatred and discrimination towards LGBT+ people, which perpetuates stigma, especially towards trans populations, and puts the integrity of these communities at risk.

These behaviors go against the Code of Ethics of the Chamber of Deputies, which states that every person holding the position of deputy "shall act in strict adherence to the respect of human rights recognized in the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States and in the international treaties to which the Mexican State is a party, and shall promote and maintain the necessary actions that favor equity."

Her behavior requires a strong response. We need the Ethics Committee of the Chamber of Deputies to act in accordance with the principles of respect and protection of human rights, sanction the representative, and promote legislation that penalizes hate speech in Congress!
