In an alarming violation of human rights, LAI Ke, a transgender activist, has been unjustly detained in Hong Kong since May 2023. Her only "crime"? Advocating for transgender rights.

On her way to Canada, LAI Ke was arrested and has since been denied legal representation, access to hormone medication, and subjected to inhumane treatment, including forced cessation of hormone therapy and solitary confinement under absurd accusations.
